Armchair Cynics are back with “The Lost Tapes” a collection of unreleased demos and b-sides led by the cathartic focus track “Turn Around.” This energetic, nostalgic, and hopeful set of rock songs explores doubt, anxiety, and the power of finding strength through others, reaffirming the band’s legacy while introducing a new chapter in their story.
“The Lost Tapes collection became the spark for a wave of new releases and even a few live shows,” says the band. We’ve always had the advantage of self-producing high-quality demos thanks to Adam’s studio in Victoria, which meant we had some great tracks that didn’t quite fit the vibe of Killing the Romance or Starting Today. They ended up shelved, not because they weren’t good, but because they didn’t belong. Thankfully, 604 Records reminded us they were still sitting in the archive, and we knew it was time to bring them to light. It’s like that meme: ‘Finish your songs, people need to hear them.’ These were finished; they just got stuck in digital purgatory.”
604 is very excited and proud to be putting this collection of songs out as part of the legacy of this great Victoria band!
