"I’m Not Getting Better" is the third track being released off of Marianas Trench’s upcoming album "Haven" which will be released on Friday, August 30th, 2024.
The album is based on “The Hero’s Journey” book by Joseph Campbell, who broke down the plot patterns of fables and myths until he came up with 13 plot points most stories follow. Each song on the upcoming album represents one of the plot points in order, which together tell a story. “I’m Not Getting Better” is the 3rd track on the album and represents the 3rd plot point which is the “Refusal of the Call.” Whether it be by reasons of fear, insecurity, or a blockage from an outside source, the hero refuses the call to adventure. The song is about insecurities and trying to get past them.
