"When I'm writing with someone new, the first hour or two is often an expansive discussion about music, life, and relationships. I was set up with Khal from Wild Rivers, a band I love, and we wrote in his partner's little barn on the back of a family property an hour outside of Nashville. In a rare turn of events for musicians, we both realized we were in healthy, stable, long-term relationships—and in both cases, we didn't set out to find a partner as much as the connection just happened. Once Khal started playing some chords on the keyboard, the song came pretty quickly. It's about letting yourself be loved, accepting something when it feels easy, and not overthinking or trying to find red flags. The chorus feels like that acceptance to me: the first half is like being pulled into the arms of someone you love, and the second half captures the freedom that comes from knowing that you’re where you’re meant to be.”
